Still Too Good
I know I've used this video before, but just wanted to get up a quick reminder to my wife how blessed I am to be loved by her.

Blue Marble

In May of 1961, President John F. Kennedy announced that the United States would put a man on the moon by the end of the decade. Innovative planning and coordination between many different agencies was required to accomplish this bold plan. When Apollo 8 transmitted this image of Earth, known as the "blue marble", the entire world saw what this program and the U.S. could achieve.
There is no doubt what we are capable of if we determine it within our hearts, and work towards it with every part of our being.

Kids are funny
So, with Michelle gone, my mother has been watching the kids quite a bit. The other day, during a time with Grandma, a conversation ensued regarding our dog Daisy and Michelle's grandmother's dog, Bandit. The conversation turned to the fact that Bandit's lifestyle was not conducive to Grandmother's, and Bandit had to find a home elsewhere. Ali, still disappointed in the news, found out that they had thought about giving him to a nursing home. Alarmed, Ali informed everyone that dogs couldn't be in nursing homes. My mother then informed Alexis that they most certainly could. In fact, there was a dog at her Great Grandma Betty's nursing home. To which, Ali replied...
"Really... what's wrong with it?"

I miss my friend
It may sound sappy, but this woman is my world.
It's 3:39 AM on night 11 of her being gone, and once again I find myself unable to sleep. Torn by my selfish desires that I need her home, and the understanding that she is there as mother to the rest of our children. I struggle to find a comfortable routine. It's not the fact that I am trying to handle my list of obligations, as well as hers. It's not the fact that if it weren't for Hardee's, some men would starve. As a matter of fact, caring for our children and the absence of a domestic partner doesn't phase me one bit. On the contrary, I am quite enjoying the time that I must make to actually stop and spend the time often forsaken with our children. To me, it's just that a piece of me is missing when she is not by my side.
So, I'm not sure if I will actually publish this post, but I'm thinking that it's cheaper than a shrink.
I love you, Michelle. The kids are fine, but I miss my friend.

In Case You Were Wondering

I need your vote...
So I was thinking... We have obviously all witnessed the booming technological advancements over the last few years. You know, the ones that are supposed to save us time and money. For instance, the "self checkout" lines at the grocery. The ones where the girl sits there and watches you like a hawk so you don't accidentally steal anything, and then looks at you as you beat the machine to death because the "do you have coupons" button won't work when you tap it. You know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I haven't noticed the price of groceries going down even though more and more of the workload falls on us, the paying customer. Less people there to help... so we scan, bag, pay, and get our own change from the machines... all for what?
So... this month I'd like to see how many letters we can have sent to our local Schnuck's store nominating me as "Self-Checker of the Month". I keep seeing all their employee's pictures framed up on the wall, but I've never seen these employees. I think it's time the working men and women take there rightful place on the wall of fame. With your help, I think we can get this done. Who's with me?!
(At the risk of being thought of as the poster boy for prostate exams, we may want to rename this award to "Non-Employee of the Month". Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.) If we can get this thing to catch on, I'll gladly add your name to the ballet.

What a difference a year makes.
After being held scoreless in last year's rookie season, Camden Cundiff came back with a vengence. Scoring 4 goals in the 2007 season opener before being rested much of the second half, Cundiff looked as though he was playing in a contract year. Asked about Camden's off season training and incredible opening performance, his father stated that "It was only a matter of time. What you saw here today, as impressive as it may have been, was only the tip of the iceburg. There is much, much more to come."Talk is already beginning to circulate with speculations of league MVP and a record breaking 57 goal season.

I Love These Kids
Some fresh photos from this week's trip. I haven't had time to go through all the pics from the week, so I apologize that not all of the children are shown. There is more in the works, but I know many of you who were not able to go are anxious to see something. I hope you enjoy. I know we did. It was a great trip. Thanks to everyone who went!

Quotes
Why is it that our lives are made up of so many movie quotes? Is it that we want so bad to be the characters in the shows that we see or the books that we read, or do we just wish we could come up with the one liners as quickly as the characters or in just the right moments as they do? So, here's your chance... give me some of your favorites... We can see who can guess where they came from.

Know Them By Their Fruit,
I hate to feel this way, but does it bother anyone else when a politician only begins to speak of their faith in God and their Savior Jesus as election time approaches? I never want to be judgmental of one's faith, Lord knows I have a hard enough time keeping myself in line, but doesn't scripture say something about this...?
